Joanne LaPorta is the Director and Founder of Accent on Hearing, Inc.  She earned her Masters Degree at the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1985 and has been practicing audiology ever since; working in the New York metropolitan area for over ten years prior to her move to Colorado in 1995.  She has practiced in Colorado testing hearing and dispensing technologically advanced hearing aids for ten years. Ms. LaPorta made the decision to open her own practice so that she could offer quality care and professional services in a soothing environment at reasonable prices.  Joanne is certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and is licensed by the State of Colorado.  She is a Fellow in the American Academy of Audiology and is a member of both the Colorado Academy of Audiology and the Academy of Dispensing Audiologists.  She is devoted to offering the highest levels of service and prides herself on her outstanding professional expertise and training.  Joanne enjoys facilitating the quality of life that improved hearing can provide.  Joanne also takes pride in her beautiful family including her husband, John and their three sons, Sean, Patrick, and Brian.

Rachel Roberts earned her Masters and Doctorate degrees in Audiology from Indiana University at Bloomington.  In addition to her clinical training at Indiana, she participated in several research projects focusing on the physiology of the mammalian cochlea, otoacoustic emissions, and auditory psychophysics.  As a clinical audiologist, she emphasizes a patient-centered approach, working with her patients and their loved ones to achieve a more fulfilling lifestyle through amplification or assistive technologies.  Dr. Roberts also carries specialized training in tinnitus.  Dr. Roberts is licensed to practice audiology in the State of Colorado, is a certified member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology.  She is a member of the Colorado Academy of Audiology and is a professional member of the Hearing Loss Association of America.  Dr. Roberts has been hand-selected as one of Colorado’s Top Independent Doctors of Audiology.  Rachel also has a Masters degree in Public Administration from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, and has worked in executive-level State government.  She and her husband, Eric, are blessed with a lovely and vivacious daughter, Lenora.

We are so pleased to welcome Irena Homsher as our newest team member at Accent on Hearing. Irena brings over fifteen years of healthcare office administration experience to our office. Originally from California, Irena and her husband, Dustin, have lived in Colorado since 1997 and moved to Castle Rock in 1999. They have two beautiful, young daughters, Julia, age 10 and Ava, age 3. Irena enjoys interior design and decorating, (can't wait to see the holiday décor!) and gardening. She spends hours of her free time volunteering at her daughter's school and at her husband's fire department. Irena is also a NOTARY!!
