Accent on Hearing |
Our goal is to provide you with the best possible hearing care based upon your individual needs. We provide many services related to evaluation, rehabilitation and prevention of hearing loss. These services include comprehensive hearing evaluations, specialized diagnostic testing, and aural rehabilitation.
If you think you have hearing loss, choosing a hearing professional is one of the most important decisions you can make. Proper hearing aid recommendation and fitting is highly dependent on the expertise of the Audiologist performing the testing and selecting the instrument. We test your hearing, select and dispense the hearing instrument best suited to your needs in additon to providing support, counseling, and service of the hearing system.
Diagnostic audiometric evaluations are performed by licensed professionals to measure hearing using state of the art equipment. Results of the testing are explained in detail with recommendations reviewed.

If amplification is warranted we will discuss hearing aid expectations and assess your needs regarding the style, performance, options and finances. Accent on Hearing dispenses digital hearing aids and related devices to suit all types of hearing loss and life styles. Assessments regarding the level of amplification that would be best suited to our patients are generally completed following the comprehensive hearing evaluation. Hearing aids can be tried on in the office to allow you to hear for yourself what you are missing. Accent onn hearing works with a variety of manufacturers including:

Hearing aids require expert fitting, fine tuning, programming, follow-up and maintenance. It is for this reason you are better served by Audiologists with extensive education, training, and experience. Joanne and Rachel will be available to follow your hearing health care for years to come. This may not be the case with many on-line and wearhouse dispensers. They may not have the education of a Master's or Doctorate degree, often only a dispensing license which requires a G.E.D. and payment of fees. Employee turnover has also been a problem for many wearhouse and chain retail sites.
Once your indepth evaluation is completed and we review your needs, your ear physiology and financial concerns we can review the size and style of hearing aids which would be best suited for your loss.

Other considerations include desire for remote control, fine motor ability, and connectivity to electronic devices including TV, phones, computers and ipods.

Assistive devices will also be reviewed and recommended as necessary including amplified phones, alerting systems, and television amplifiers.

We also actively participate in the prevention of hearing loss through the provision and fitting of custom hearing protection, consultation on the effects of noise on hearing, and consumer education. Examples of hearing loss protection would include ear protection for industrial workers, hunters and musicians. We offer a variety of custom sleep, swim and ipod ear molds which are extremely comfortable. There are so many options.
