Diagnostic Audiologic Evaluations for Adults

The audiometric evaluation consists of pure tone air and bone conduction and speech testing. Testing pure tones is completed to determine the degree of hearing loss and whether hearing loss is conductive or sensorineural.

Tympanometry

Tympanometry is an examination used to test the condition of the middle ear and mobility of the eardrum (tympanic membrane) and the conduction bones, by creating variations of air pressure in the ear canal.

Otoacoustic Emission Testing (OAEs)

An otoacoustic emission test (OAE) measures an acoustic response that is produced by the inner ear (cochlea), which in essence bounces back out of the ear in response to a sound stimulus.

Tinnitus Evaluation and Management

Tinnitus is a common condition, where a person experiences a ringing, rushing, or buzzing in the ears. Tinnitus will not cause you to go deaf, but its presence may affect your daily activities.
